The Free Trolley Rocks!
One great thing about Laguna Beach during the summer: the free trolley. Don't have to worry about the traffic or parking. The kids always seem to think it's a great adventure. After lunch at Ruby's, we took it to get gelato and play at Main Beach Park. Then we took it home. Leah was happier next to the window in the back where the wind didn't blow in her face quite so much.Tuesday, August 5, 2008

August Already! (Video for Sara and Leah)
In August it will be so hot
I will become a cooking pot
Cooking soup of course-why not?
Cooking once, cooking twice
Cooking chicken soup with rice!

Today will be the last day to get ready for the grandchildren's visit. Have to stock up on milk, orange juice, yogurt, string cheese, goldfish crackers. I'm ready with beach chairs, beach towels, sand toys, art supplies, books of course, a playhouse, a high chair and a crib.
Yesterday I worked in my classroom, since I really won't have a chance to get in there the rest of the month. Covered an entire wall with butcher paper and bulletin board trimmers. The rest will have to wait.
After the visit from the Texas transplants, I'm off to a foreign country for the first time in over thirty years. My passport will finally see some use. So will my muscles - I will be SO ready for kayaking! I do military style push-ups now - OK, not more than three before I have to drop to my knees, but this is huge progress. I even had to go buy heavier weights for my workout.
Seems like summer just started. By the end of the month I will be back at school. But I intend to have a lot of fun until then!
