Actually, I will be primarily visiting Elk Grove, about 15 miles south of Sacramento. Two years ago, Elk Grove received some notoriety as the fastest growing city in the U.S. I have to say, it is a little strange to be in a place where everything, and I do mean almost everything, is new. I haven't been there in a year, so it will be interesting to see what else has been added to the landsc
ape. There actually is an Old Town which dates back to the Gold Rush, because the city used to be on the stagecoach line. But mostly it is former agricultural land converted to housing tracts and shopping centers. Very pleasant, and a great location between the Bay Area and the Sierra Nevadas. It will be nice to get away from the thick gray clouds presently afflicting SoCal. I look forward to clear skies, warm temperatures, and most especially, pleasant company.
